Make & Mend Open Studios x PS

Sign up now for some social art making sessions focused on play, intuition, color theory and material exploration. Practice Space welcomes special guest Emily Tirella, owner of Make & Mend. Emily will be bringing along kits exploring painting, print-making, and fiber arts all with re-purposed materials from her shop.

This class is geared towards adults, but teenagers who make art are welcome too.

Class size is limited, Reserve your spot ahead of time!

Make & Mend is a second-hand art supply shop in the heart of Union Square. Emily Tirella, a fibers major at MassArt in 2017, started the shop to make art supplies more accessible and curate those forgotten art supplies that either go partially used or un-used all together. When beginning, Emily asked herself, "How can I make these expensive art supplies more accessible to the next round of students to take this class?" Art supplies in general can be unreasonably expensive, especially when you get to the fine art realm of things. Make & Mend wants people to have the freedom to play with art materials and not be restricted from growing their practice because of financial constraints.

This series of workshops is part of the research question, "How do we make a new economy?" at Practice Space.
